It is a beautiful place which is visited by thousands of tourists every year for both its beautiful beaches, its lovely countryside and its history. Malta actually consists of 3 main islands: Malta which is the biggest and which offers most of the attractions and is the most popular of the 3 islands for a wedding, Gozo which is more rural and which offers a more relaxed lifestyle than Malta and Comino which is a very small island that is largely uninhabited apart from the hundreds of people that flock the island in the summer months to enjoy the crystal clear blue sea.

Wedding Venue – There are some amazing wedding venues around the island. Some of them tend to be very expensive because of the current trend and high demands. However with the adequate guidance from your wedding planner you will manage to find a venue which is equally amazing at a lower cost. Usually these wedding venues are upcoming or just not popular with the local market however ticks all the right boxes for a destination wedding.
Time of year – Being summer is the busiest of month, in July, August usually prices are very high and it is very hard to get a good price. However, during the other months of the year with the help of a local expect you might get a good deal on the price.
Weekday or weekend – Being that most local weddings take place in the weekend (Friday to Sunday) prices for the weekend tend to be high all year round. However, when it comes to destination weddings where most of the guest are foreigner it really makes no difference for the bride, groom and guests if it is a weekend or weekday. While some costs remain the same, for example catering, weekday tend to be much cheaper when it comes to supplier costs and wedding venue rental.
Catering – Most foreign couple getting married in Malta tend to prefer a sit down meal over a stand up reception. The cost of the meal varies according to the chosen menu and the actual caterer. An expensive caterer does not always mean better quality. With the right guidance you can find a good caterer, with good quality food which does not break the bank.
Entertainment – This varies according to the couple’s tastes and what the venue allows. One of the most viable options is to have a DJ. However the couple might choose to get a band. DJ is the most affordable option. The cost of the band depends on the number of people in the band as well as their reputation. Once again with the right guidance you can find upcoming artist who will not break your bank and who will provide a superb service.
